PRINCIPLES OF ETHNOMUSICOLOGICAL RESEARCH

Course objectives

The course aims to address some of the main issues of research in ethnomusicology, providing methodological tools for the study of music of oral tradition and compile a table of bibliographic and multimedia resources in the field of ethnomusicology. The course aims to provide basic elements of musical language and music history in a transcultural perspective; it enables the student to master the subjects in order to use it and apply it in other fields of study with the correct use of the specific technical language. With the acquired knowledge the student is able to develop autonomous ability of connections with other disciplines in the various historical and cultural contexts.
