SCREENWRITING

Course objectives

the course will address the topic of writing for the theater from a laboratory perspective. It will involve dealing with narrative techniques and artistic writing applied to the world of performance. The concrete and artisanal characteristics that dramaturgy for the stage requires will be analyzed, dealing at the same time with literary writing and the cinematographic script. A series of fundamental exercises and writing proposals will be addressed, pen or keys in hand, to be able to create that degree of "evocation" of reality and "stage presence" that performance requires. We will ask ourselves why theater still in the 21st century has a strong irreducible vitality and generates a circular energy between those who "tell" and those who "listen". During the lessons, reference will be made to some theoretical aspects of dramaturgy, in general terms, in particular for the format of dramatic writing, for the use of spatiality and temporality, for the construction of the character and his position (point of view) in relation to the plot, for the use of the linguistic register and for the comparison between the "fictional world" recreated in writing and the "real world" where we live in everyday life.
