Pre- clinic scientific methodology

Course objectives

At the end of the course the student will have to: • be able to frame the main theoretical and practical developments of medicine historically • possess an adequate historical perception of the evolution of the concept of illness in relation to the development of knowledge and strategies of medical-scientific investigation • be aware of the conceptual and methodological challenges of the genomic revolution in medicine • be able to apply the concepts learned to the historical reconstruction of the strategy of conceptualization of a particular disease • be able to know the main conceptual and theoretical models of the doctor-patient relationship

Prerequisites
In order to be able to follow the teaching, the student must possess some basic notions of history and philosophy, as in a standard Italian high school course
