Course objectives

The purpose is to make people learn: the KNOWLEDGE of terminology, subjective symptoms, objective signs, clinical syndromes, laboratory investigations and instrumental investigations of the nefro-urological apparatus. the SKILLS to conduct a correct anamnesis in the nefro-urological field, and to write it in a terminologically appropriate manner. to conduct the nefro-urological objective examination, in the normal and pathological subject, in a correct manner and to dictate it in a terminologically appropriate manner SKILLS of pathophysiological reasoning, understood as the ability to know how to interpret nefro-urological signs and symptoms, and to identify the problem from which to start the correct diagnostic procedure.

Benign prostatic hyperplasia: epidemiologic aspects, ethiopatogenesis; diagnositc exams; medical and surgical treatments. Cervico-urethral obstructions: differential diagnosis. Urinary stones: ethiopathogenesis; diagnostic exams; medical therapies; mini-invasive treatments, surgery. Prostate cancer: etiopathogenesis and risk factors; diagnostic exams, PSA, imaging; radical prostatectomy, radiotherapy and medical therapies. Kidney cancer: etiopathogenesi, imaging and diagnostic exams; surgical techniques; medical therapies; cystic kidney diseases.
