Course objectives

The aim of the course is to: • have knowledge of the epidemiology and the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying the clinical presentation of the main cardiovascular and respiratory diseases • to value the contribution of pathological anatomy, relating it to the epidemiology and the clinic, as an instrument to better understand the etiopathogenetic processes and the natural history of the morbid processes • have knowledge of the main diagnostic techniques of cardiovascular and respiratory diseases • be able to interpret the quantitative and qualitative results of diagnostic, instrumental and laboratory tests and use them to develop an adequate diagnostic and therapeutic procedure

Course program
- Normal and pathological anatomical-radiographic aspects in the various morbid conditions of the respiratory system - Diagnostic flow charts in the main pathological conditions. Indications for different diagnostic tests. - Recognition of the main anatomical findings in radiographic examinations and possibly identification of the pathology.

The teaching material used by the instructor will be provided. These materials serve as a support and guidance for studying and preparing for the exam. Frequency
Students are required to attend at least 70% of the lectures in order to be admitted to the exam.
Exam mode
The exam includes a practical test to evaluate a radiological picture and some questions on the indications for different diagnostic tests in different pathologies of the respiratory system and on the radiological findings of the main clinical-pathological pictures
