Course program
Main diseases of geriatric interest with particular reference to the endocrine-metabolic diseases and the diseases of the respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal and nervous system and the clinical problems frequently related to them (bedsores, risk of bleeding, senile malnutrition, urinary incontinence, dementia, acute confusional states). Comorbidities, polytherapies, iatrogenic complications and deprescription. Multidimensional assessment and case management.
Prerequisites
Adequate knowledge of biology, physiology, pathophysiology, general pathology, pathological anatomy, hygiene and preventive medicine, semiotics, laboratory and instrumental diagnostics, internal medicine and medical specialties, general and specialist surgery, pharmacology.
