Clinical research methodology. Evidence Based Medicine.
Introduction to medical statistics. The art of reading numbers.
Types of variables. Frequency distributions.
Data synthesis and variability: indices of central tendency (analytical and position averages, quantiles) ,
dispersion indices (range of variation, variance, standard deviation, standard error, range, interquartile range, coefficient of variation).
Graphic and analytical representation of phenomena: contingency tables and graphs (histograms and Cartesian diagrams, pie charts, bar charts, box plots)
Demographic statistics. Indicators of the health status of a population, nosographic trends Standardized rates.
Gaussian curve and use in medicine.
Probability and main theorems, Bayes.
Statistical inference: hypothesis testing.critical reading of scientific articles
Confidence interval, critical reading of scientific articles
Analysis of the relationship between variables: correlation and linear regression.
