Course program
- Fluid dynamics in medicine; - Statics of fluids: blood pressure; - Twodimensional Poiseuille flow and Hagen-Poiseuille flow; - Hydrodynamic resistance of vessels and airways; - Flow in actual vessels: effect of the vessel geometry and elasticity; - Fundamentals of blood rheology; - Fluid dynamics of the cardiovascular system, some of its pathologies, and protheses; - Fluid dynamics of the respiratory system and of some of its pathologies.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of calculus.
