Course program
- Constitutive equations of biological tissues. - Connective tissue: tendons, ligaments, skin; methods for measuring tissue viscoelasticity, creep, and stress relaxation; biological and artificial substitute tissues (tendons, skin, etc.). - Characterization of bone tissue, bone isotropy and anisotropy, tensile/compression tests, bending tests, and local deformation measurement; biological and artificial substitute tissues. - Characterization of muscle tissue, in vitro measurement techniques, direct (through the membrane) and indirect (through the motor neuron) electrical stimulation; isometric and isotonic tests. - The coding mechanisms of peripheral mechanoreceptor neurons (outline).
