Fundamentals of Medical Oncology Core principles of pharmacology in cancer and the main adverse effects of antineoplastic therapies (including chemotherapy, targeted therapies, and immunotherapy) Precision oncology Principles of palliative and supportive care Interpretation of clinical trials in oncology and fundamentals of clinical trial design Main Tumor Entities Addressed: -Colorectal Cancer -Gastric Cancer -Breast Cancer -Lung Cancer -Pancreatic and Biliary Tract Cancers -Hepatocellular Carcinoma -Prostate Cancer -Melanoma -Bladder Cancer -Renal Cell Carcinoma -Supportive Care and Pain Management Each integrated lecture will address the following key topics: -Risk factors predisposing to cancer, including genetic determinants associated with the development of both solid and hematologic malignancies -Clinical presentation of solid tumors -Main diagnostic procedures and principles of cancer screening, particularly for major high-incidence malignancies ("big killers") -Interpretation of radiological and biochemical results, as well as specific pathological findings relevant to each solid or hematologic neoplasm -Major predictive and prognostic factors in oncology -Principles of a multidisciplinary and integrated approach to cancer management
