Course objectives

The teaching aims to provide knowledge and skills related to the use of plants for nutritional purposes, medicinal plants, wild herbs (i.e. phytoalimurgy).

Course program
Chemistry of Life: molecules and macromolecules of biological interest, Elements of cytology, definition and general characteristics of cells, Cell structure, differences between prokaryotes and eukaryotes, organelles, differences between animal cells and plants, cellular respiration, photosynthesis, Elements of systematics: Viruses, Bacteria, Protists, Fungi, Plants and Animals.
Prerequisites
Students will benefit from high school-level knowledge of chemistry.
