Course program
After the presentation of the objectives and the organization of the course, the first part is dedicated to carrying out individual and small group activities (exercises, simulations, administration of evaluation tools, etc.) for the acquisition of professional skills related to the psychodiagnostic examination related to mental disorders, as well as the related protective and risk factors; in addition, the assessment of the factors most associated with psychological well-being is addressed (approximately 14 hours). This part involves the familiarization and use of different diagnostic tools (questionnaires, self-monitoring tools, structured interviews, etc.), as well as writing psychodiagnostic reports and conducting feedback interviews. Subsequently, exercises are carried out, as well as individual and small group work, for the development of professional skills related to the design and implementation of scientifically based clinical-psychological interventions, specifically in the field of prevention and treatment of mental disorders (about 16 hours). In particular, in addition to dealing with the different parts of the intervention planning, activities will be carried out for the acquisition of techniques for soft skills development (e.g., emotional awareness, stress management, social skills) and intervention techniques for psychological support, especially related emotional first aid. Transversely (about 6 hours), activities and exercises are carried out to acquire communicative and relational skills necessary for a psychodiagnostic examination and a psychological intervention, with reference to the client’s and psychologist’s characteristics. In this context, the deontological aspects of the profession are also dealt with on a practical level.
