SOCIOLOGY OF THE ENVIRONMENT AND TERRITORY

Course objectives

Following the goals that foresee the close examination of sociological themes, our course is designed to provide an analysis of the social sciences standpoint on territorial development and its sustainability. It will also introduce the empirical methods of research oriented towards the qualitative analysis of collective action in social environment. Outcomes: 1. Acquisition of knowledge about the basic items of environmental sociology 2. Acquisition of skills avaiable to territorial policies 3. Skills in editing reports 4. Skills to communicate the job during a public presentation 5. Ability to continue the study in autonomous way, depeening the bibliography furnished to the fear of the course

Course program
The teaching is organised in thematic blocks on the following topics o Basics of social theory and authors (15h); o The role of space in sociological analysis (10h); o Main models of the spatial organisation of tourism and its impact on territorial change (10h); o From theory to practice in recognising the tangible and intangible dimensions of tourism in the city (8h).
