Ofa: methods of fulfilling additional training obligations
You are required to fulfill Additional Educational Obligations (OFA) in Italian if:
-
You have not achieved a score equal to or higher than 12 out of 40 on the TOLC-SPS test (including the TOLC@CASA mode);
-
You have not achieved a score equal to or higher than 15 out of 50 on the TOLC-SU test (including the TOLC@CASA mode).
Please note that the outcome of the English section does not affect the passing thresholds for the TOLC-SPS and TOLC-SU tests (including TOLC@CASA) nor the assignment of OFA.
The Faculty of Political Science, Sociology, and Communication organizes support activities to help students fulfill the OFA requirements. These activities will be offered synchronously and/or asynchronously and communicated to enrolled students with OFA after the university’s official enrollment deadline.
In addition to attending and completing these support activities, there are two ways to fulfill the Additional Educational Obligations:
-
Pass a remedial test or interview organized and/or indicated by the Study Program;
or alternatively -
Pass one of the following first-year curricular exams:
-
Institutions of Sociology (exam code: 1010516)
-
Contemporary History (exam code: 1017545)
-
History of Sociology (exam code: 10596059)
-
Cultural Anthropology (exam code: 1012749)
-
Introduction to Social Research (exam code: 10596060)
-
Institutions of Public Law (exam code: 1013718)
-
Statistics (exam code: 1010575)
-
Important: Passing the curricular exam, as recorded in Infostud, automatically satisfies the Additional Educational Obligation.
Detailed instructions on how to participate in remedial courses, take the OFA test, and all other relevant information will be published in the “Attendance” section of the Study Program page in the course catalog:
https://corsidilaurea.uniroma1.it/
Failure to fulfill the OFA will result, starting from the academic year 2026-2027, in the inability to sit exams for years beyond the first year.
