Application Process – Step by Step
To apply for admission, please follow these steps:
a. Pay the €10 Application Fee
You must pay a €10 fee following the deadlines and procedures listed in Section 3.
b. Wait for the Results of the Entry Requirements Check
If you don’t meet the academic requirements, you may still be eligible by completing individual courses to earn the missing credits.

c. Take the Personal Preparation Assessment
Follow the instructions in Section 4.
d. Finalize Your Enrollment
Once you receive email confirmation that both the entry requirements and personal preparation have been approved, you can proceed with enrollment by paying the tuition fees as described in Section 5.
Applicants from Other Italian Universities
After paying the €10 fee, applicants from other Italian universities must send a self-certification of completed exams, including subject areas (SSD), ECTS credits, exam syllabi, and final degree grade.

Applicants Who Have Not Yet Graduated
If permitted by the program regulations, students who haven’t yet earned their Bachelor’s degree (from Sapienza or elsewhere) may still apply, provided they graduate by:
- January 24, 2026 – for students graduating from Sapienza
- December 20, 2025 – for students from other Italian or foreign institutions
Applicants with foreign degrees or from international education systems must follow the procedures listed in Section 6.

2. Admission Requirements
Eligible candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree (Laurea Triennale) in L-36 (Political Science) or L-37 (International Relations) and demonstrate English language proficiency at a minimum B2 level in L-LIN/12 (English Language).
Applicants from other disciplines are also eligible if they have:
- English proficiency at B2 level (see Section 4 for details)
- At least 90 ECTS credits in the following subject areas, covering all three fields below:
E.g., SECS-P/01, SECS-P/02, SECS-S/01, etc.
2. Law
E.g., IUS/09, IUS/13, IUS/21, etc.
3. Socio-politics
E.g., SPS/02–SPS/14, M-GGR/01, M-PSI/04, etc.

3. Entry Requirements Evaluation
You must pay a €10 evaluation fee via Infostud starting July 2, 2025, by choosing one of the following deadlines:
- September 16, 2025 – only valid for non-EU students requiring a visa
- October 16, 2025
- November 18, 2025
- December 16, 2025
- January 15, 2026 – only for students graduating from Sapienza
- Pay online via PagoPA through Infostud
- Use payment code: 33629

3. Entry requirements assessment
The assessment of entry requirements is requested by paying a fee of €10,00 from July 2, 2025 to one of the following dates of your choice: - September 16, 2025 (only date available for non-EU candidates who request a student visa) - - - - October 16, 2025 November 18, 2025 December 16, 2025 January 15, 2026 (date reserved for those who have already graduated or are about to graduate from Sapienza University of Rome). Payment is generated on the Infostud system. Payment is made online via PagoPA (direct payment). The code to be entered in the system is 33629. Read the instructions The outcome of the entry requirements assessment will be communicated to the institutional mailbox (if activated) or to the personal email address declared on Infostud.
4. Personal Preparation Assessment
To enroll in the LM-81 program, your academic background must align with the program’s focus on socio-politics, economics and statistics and international law areas related to international cooperation.
If your degree background is not fully aligned, you may be required to complete individual courses before enrolling. These may be taken at any accredited university (Italian or international), as long as you complete them before finalizing your enrollment.
Your preparation is assessed based on your degree and/or a Master’s (I or II level), your academic transcript, and your GPA or final grade.
English Language Requirements can be met by:
- Completing a course in L-LIN/12 during your Bachelor’s degree
- Or holding one of the following certificates:
- IELTS Academic ≥ 6.0
- TOEFL iBT ≥ 80
- Cambridge B2 First or higher
- TOEIC L&R ≥ 720
- From countries where English is the official language
- With a degree fully taught in English in the EHEA area, US, UK, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand
- Holding an International Baccalaureate, GCSE, or equivalent certification
5. Enrollment
After passing both the entry requirements and personal preparation checks, you may enroll by paying tuition fees through Infostud using:

- Payment code: 33629

For Students with a Foreign Qualification
Enrollment procedures vary depending on your citizenship and residency:
A. Non-EU citizens residing abroad or part of the Marco Polo program
Pre-acceptance is mandatory. Follow instructions in Section 7 of the International Student Office page.
B. Italian citizens, EU citizens, and non-EU citizens with a residence permit in Italy
Follow the procedures outlined in Section 8 of the same page.
C. Enrollment after Qualification Verification
Once your foreign qualification has been approved or a pre-acceptance letter issued, complete your enrollment following the steps in Section 4 of the International Student Office page.
6. Candidates with an educational qualification obtained in a nonItalian education system
Procedures differ according to nationality and country of residence. For applicants with citizenship in non-EU countries, residing abroad and applying for a study visa, and for applicants from China and participating in the Marco Polo project who choose the English language curriculum In these cases, it is necessary to have the mandatory pre-acceptance letter. The procedures to be followed are indicated in section 7 of the International Student Office page
