How and When to Enroll

The information required to enroll in the course is provided in the notice that outlines the admission procedures.

News and updates

To be admitted to the program, applicants must:
a. Pay the fee of €10.00 following the procedures and deadlines indicated in Section 3.
b. Wait for the outcome of the entry requirements verification. If the requirements are not met, applicants may acquire the missing credits by passing individual courses (esami singoli). Procedures and costs are specified in the section “Individual Courses” of the Regulations on Enrollment in Bachelor’s and Master’s Programs and Student Contributions.

c. Complete the personal preparation assessment according to the procedures indicated in Section 4.
d. Finalize enrollment by paying tuition fees according to the procedures and deadlines indicated in Section 5.
Enrollment can only take place after the Administrative Office has sent confirmation by email of the successful verification of entry requirements and personal preparation.
For Applicants from Other Italian Universities
Applicants transferring from other Italian universities must, after paying the €10.00 fee, submit a self-certification listing the exams taken, their corresponding scientific-disciplinary sectors, and syllabi, using the form “Degree and Exams Declaration” available on the university website at the student forms page: https://www.uniroma1.it/it/node/28758.
Submission must be carried out in one of the following ways:

  • from the email address registered on Infostud, sent to the email address of the relevant Administrative Office or to the address indicated in the curricular requirements section of the course page (accessible through the Study Program Catalog, under Admissions). Before submitting, students must ensure they have uploaded a valid ID document on Infostud (Profile > Personal Documents);
  • from their certified email account (PEC) to Sapienza’s PEC address: protocollosapienza@cert.uniroma1.it.

4. Personal Preparation Assessment
The personal preparation assessment is carried out only if the entry requirements are met. For applicants holding the required curricular prerequisites, the assessment will be conducted according to the procedures set out in the Teaching Regulations (Regolamento Didattico) of the Study Program.

5. Enrollment
Enrollment is completed by paying tuition fees, after successful verification of entry requirements and personal preparation. The payment is generated through the Infostud system.
Payment must be made online via PagoPA (direct payment). The code to enter in the system is 33632.

6. For Applicants with a Degree Obtained Abroad
Procedures for verifying requirements for applicants holding a degree obtained abroad are specified in Section 9 of the International Students Office webpage.

For applicants from non-EU countries residing abroad who require a student visa, the following are mandatory in addition to the above:
  • submission of a pre-enrollment application via the Universitaly portal for visa issuance, as indicated in Section 5 of the International Students Office webpage;

  • passing the Italian language proficiency test (minimum B2 level) or submitting an Italian language certificate (minimum B2), as indicated in Section 1 of the International Students Office webpage. This requirement applies only to applicants enrolling in courses taught in Italian.

Enrollment procedures for applicants with a foreign degree:
After successful verification of requirements, or upon receiving a pre-acceptance letter, applicants holding a foreign degree must complete enrollment in the two-year Master’s program according to the procedures indicated in Section 4 of the International Students Office webpage.

Applicants Not Yet Graduated
Where permitted by the program regulations, applicants who have not yet completed their degree (at Sapienza or another university) may request verification of requirements, provided they graduate by:
  • 24 January 2026 (for Sapienza students);
  • 20 December 2025 (for students from other Italian or international universities).

Applicants from Abroad / Holding a Foreign Degree
The procedures for applicants from abroad or holding a degree obtained in a foreign system are those specified in Section 6.
2. Entry Requirements
Applicants must demonstrate knowledge of the basic concepts of the social sciences (sociology, social psychology, cultural anthropology, law, economics, history). Admission to the Master’s program requires a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification (pre-D.M. 509 degree, or foreign degree officially recognized as equivalent under current legislation).
Eligible applicants include:
  • graduates in class 36 Sociological Sciences (D.M. 509) and class L-40 Sociology (D.M. 270);
  • graduates in other degree classes who have obtained at least 90 ECTS in one or more of the following scientific-disciplinary sectors:
(extensive list of SSDs as provided in the original text – from ICAR/15 to SPS/13 – to remain unchanged for regulatory accuracy).
Applicants must also demonstrate adequate language proficiency (minimum B2 level) in at least one EU language other than Italian, both written and spoken, including disciplinary terminology.
3. Verification of Requirements
The requirements verification request must be submitted by paying the €10.00 fee starting 2 July 2025 and by one of the following deadlines (to be chosen by the applicant):
  • 16 September 2025 (mandatory for applicants from non-EU countries requiring a student visa);
  • 16 October 2025;
  • 18 November 2025;
  • 16 December 2025;
  • 15 January 2026 (reserved for Sapienza students who have already graduated or are about to graduate).
The payment is generated through the Infostud system.
Payment must be made online via PagoPA (direct payment). The code to enter in the system is 33632.

The outcome of the requirements verification will be communicated either to the student’s institutional email account (if activated) or to the personal email address registered in Infostud.
