Consultation with representative organizations

On July 9, 2008, the Faculty of Sociology held a meeting with representatives from organizations including Isfol, Siquas, Aisp, third-sector social cooperatives, Cerfe, OAS, Siss, Sois, Aidp, and Censis. The purpose of the meeting was to present and discuss the reform projects of the academic curricula developed by the Faculty at both the bachelor’s and master’s degree levels. After outlining the criteria that reshaped the Faculty’s educational offer, the meeting concluded with general appreciation from the attendees for the Faculty of Sociology’s efforts in simplifying the overall educational proposal, as well as for the greater clarity and definition of each individual study path and its specific learning objectives.
At the final consultation meeting at the University level, held on January 19, 2009, and considering the results of the preceding online consultation, the participating organizations expressed a positive evaluation of Sapienza’s curricular rationalization. This rationalization aimed not only to reduce the number of degree programs but also to diversify them within classes that demonstrate high attractiveness and have more than adequate faculty coverage. Moreover, after a detailed assessment of the Faculties’ educational offer, these organizations also expressed favorable opinions regarding the establishment of individual courses.

Consultation with representative organizations (subsequent consultations)

On November 8, 2024, the Chairperson of the Degree Program Council, in collaboration with a group of faculty members involved in teaching within the program, conducted a consultation with relevant stakeholders. The consultation was held both in person and via an online call, and included senior managers and leaders from the following associations and organizations:

  1. National Institute for Public Policy Analysis (Istituto Nazionale Analisi Politiche Pubbliche)
  2. Format Research Srl
  3. FPA - Forum PA
  4. Giacomo Brodolini Foundation
  5. CTS Clas
  6. National Third Sector Forum (Forum Nazionale del Terzo Settore)
  7. Eures
  8. Rome Technopole Foundation
  9. BCC Roma
  10. National Legacoop

The meeting resulted in general satisfaction and substantial appreciation of the degree program’s objectives and curriculum offer. Furthermore, important improvement suggestions were provided to address not only the needs of a rapidly changing labor market but also the demands for understanding contemporary social complexity.
In particular, stakeholders emphasized the importance of:

  • Maintaining and deepening the program’s interdisciplinarity, especially regarding sustainability and innovation themes, through interaction with other disciplines and practices (e.g., economics, technology, and public policy).
  • Enhancing practical laboratories and co-design experiences, offering students opportunities to collaborate with external actors such as public institutions and businesses. This hands-on approach would increase transversal skills and foster a mindset oriented toward change and real-world problem-solving.
  • Further investing in internships and placement pathways to facilitate students’ entry into the labor market and meet the demand for professionals capable of interpreting and intervening in social and environmental transitions.
  • Continuing to focus on the internationalization of the educational offer.
