AAF Workshops:
Elementary Modern Georgian: (from 25 March)

The seminary will be held in Aula Romeo (Facoltà di Lettere e Filosofia, Third Floor) and Aula Simonetti (Facoltà di Lettere e Filosofia, Third Floor).
Mondays (Aula Romeo) and Tuesdays (Aula Simonetti): 18:00 – 20:00
Saturdays (Aula Simonetti): 09:00 – 12:00
The first meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 25 in Aula Simonetti.
Interested students must enroll in the Google Classroom using the link provided above. The material we will use during the seminar will be uploaded to Google Calssroom.

Nel II semestre sono previsti i seguenti laboratori nell'ambito delle AAF:
In the second semester, the following workshops are scheduled within the AAF program:
1. Introduction to Old Armenian / Introduzione all’armeno antico (cfu 1; 25 hours)
Period: March-April; Classrooms and times to be confirmed
The workshop aims to introduce students to the study of Classical Armenian. First, a general and very concise overview of Armenia and its history will be presented to the students. The Armenian alphabet will then be introduced, including its creation and its relationship with other Caucasian alphabets. Finally, students will be provided with basic knowledge of phonetics, nominal, pronominal, and verbal morphology, as well as basic notions of syntax. The workshop will also involve the reading and analysis of simple texts in Classical Armenian. To achieve the set objectives, students are expected to attend classes regularly and to independently review the material explained during the lessons.
Interested students are kindly requested to contact the workshop coordinator (marco.bais@uniroma1.it), specifying their name, surname, student number and course of study. Workshop activities will be held in English or Italian depending on the participants.
2. Elementary modern Georgian / Georgiano moderno elementare (cfu 1; 25 hours)
Period: end of April - mid June; Classrooms and times to be confirmed
The workshop aims to provide students with a foundation in the grammar system of modern Georgian, with particular emphasis on some distinctive features of the language, such as its agglutinative nominal declension, polypersonal verbal inflection, and ergativity. The seminar will begin with an introduction to the Georgian alphabet, followed by the fundamentals of phonetics, nominal and verbal morphology. Reading and comprehension exercises based on elementary texts will be included, with the aim of helping students acquire basic vocabulary and phrases useful for everyday communication. In order to achieve the set objectives, students will be required to attend classes regularly and engage in independent study of the material covered in the lessons.

Exams for the 2024/25 winter session (January-February)
Please be informed that the exam dates for the winter session 2024/25 (January-February) are available on Infostud. Students who have never been able to attend the classes and wish to take the exam are kindly requested to contact the professor by email well in advance (at least two weeks prior) to the chosen exam date .

Si avvisa che gli appelli degli esami della sessione invernale 2024/25 (gennaio-febbraio) sono disponibili in Infostud. Si prega gli studenti che non avessero mai potuto frequentare le lezioni e intendessero sostenere l'esame di contattare il docente via mail con un congruo anticipo (almeno due settimane prima) rispetto alla data scelta per l'esame.
