EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
My research activity aims to understand the how we represent the (bodily, interpersonal and social) self and use those representations to understand (and interact with) the other. In particular, I investigate the psychological and social variables contributing to the building and maintaining the sense of self, and the interpersonal multisensory stimulation (IMS) paradigms able to blur the distinction between self and others, i.e. to induce self-other merging. These themes are investigated in healthy individuals, and in clinical conditions with defective bodily and conceptual self-representations such as Anorexia Nervosa. The research activity is carried over by means of the successful integration of behavioural, electrophysiological, personality measures and social manipulations techniques.

CURRENT POSITION
