Course program
The course in Radiation Protection and Diagnostic Imaging introduces students to the fundamental principles of radiological methods. The first lecture covers X-rays and the mechanisms of radiological image formation. This is followed by an overview of radiation protection and dosimetry, which are essential aspects for both patient and operator safety. The program then presents the principles of computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging, with attention to their main clinical applications. One lecture is dedicated to ultrasound, a widely used technique in nursing practice. Further sessions focus on interventional radiology and the role of healthcare professionals in managing patients undergoing invasive procedures. Finally, the course addresses contrast agents, with particular emphasis on adverse effects and preventive safety measures.
Prerequisites
The student must have completed the previous year's exams.

At the end of the lessons will be provided to the learner texts or slides useful for the preparation of the exam on Moodle platform
Teaching mode
The teacher provides frontal teaching with traditional methods, with audiovisual aids and with lesson scheduling as reported on the GOMP System.

Exam mode
The exam consists of a written test using multiple choice tests.
To pass the exam it is necessary to achieve a vote of not less than 18/30. The student must demonstrate that he has acquired sufficient knowledge of the educational objectives.
To achieve a vote of 30/30 cum laude, the student must instead demonstrate that he has acquired an excellent knowledge of all the topics covered during the course, being able to connect them in a logical and coherent way.
