Cell cultures in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic applications
- Cell cultures: definition and types, culture materials and conditions, sterility and contamination
- Primary cultures: isolation protocols for epithelial cells, mesenchymal cells, adult stem cells, iPS and organoid cultures
- Cell culture diagnostic applications: virological, oncological and functional diagnostics
- Clinical applications of cell cultures: cell therapies, in vitro reconstruction of epithelial and mucosal tissues. Examples of applications in different pathologies
Prerequisites
No special skills are required to attend the ADE
Books
Teaching material presented during the lessons will be provided to the students either in electronic format or as paper material. It will also be recommended useful material for any further study.
Teaching mode
The teacher delivers lectures with traditional methods, blended methods or remote methods, according to the existing provisions, with audiovisual aids and scheduling of lessons as reported on GOMP Aule/Orari system, published on the website of the Degree Course. If possible, depending on the number of students and on the existing health provisions, part of the ADE is carried out in the laboratory, dividing the students into small groups.

Exam mode
The evaluation is carried out ongoing, through questions on the topics covered and through practical laboratory exercises (where possible).
For the purpose of awarding the final qualification, attendance at lessons is also taken into consideration.
