Prerequisites
To access the internship activities required in the third year, the student must have acquired: • a solid foundational knowledge in the core disciplines of the degree program; • adequate laboratory and methodological skills to operate in experimental or applicative settings; • intermediate to advanced proficiency in English, necessary to pass the Advanced English Skills proficiency test and to interact in scientific and professional environments; • basic organizational and interpersonal skills, enabling the student to work in a team and to contribute independently and responsibly to internship activities.
Frequency
Internship activities are divided into two main components: Advanced English Skills (6 CFU, 48 hours): Classroom lessons in advanced English language, with practical exercises on understanding scientific texts, writing reports, and oral presentations. Training internship (3 CFU, 75 hours): Conducted at university laboratories, companies, or affiliated organizations, under the supervision of an internal or external supervisor.
Exam mode
The actual achievement of the expected results for the Internship Activities is assessed through a single qualifying exam, which includes: An Advanced English Skills test (6 CFU, 48 hours of classroom instruction) assesses the student's advanced language skills, necessary for effective communication in scientific and professional contexts. A training internship (3 CFU, 75 hours): carried out at university laboratories, companies, or approved organizations, under the supervision of an internal or external supervisor. The evaluation considers the completion of the required hours and the student's ability to tackle a real problem, develop a project, and propose solutions independently and motivated, even within a work group with senior staff. The qualification is issued only if both components are satisfactory. If positive, the student receives the recognition of the expected CFU. The assessment does not assign a numerical score but provides a certification of proficiency based on actual participation, completion of activities, and language test.
