LABORATORY AND CHEMICO-PHARMACEUTICAL ACTIVITIES
Course objectives
Students have 3 CFU for internship activities, which can be carried out in different fields, The aim is to offer students the opportunity for practical experience which will facilitate the acquisition of additional knowledge and specific methodologies. General objectives The general objective of the Chemical-Pharmaceutical Training Internship is to give students the opportunity to acquire theoretical-practical knowledge of experimental activities relating to active research projects. Specific objectives 1. Student knowledge and understanding The specific objective of the Training Internship is to offer the student a period of attendance at experimental laboratories (or similar structures) aimed at providing knowledge of the theoretical bases and understanding of the methods of application of experimental techniques that allow the answer to a specific scientific question. 2. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding Attendance and practical activity under supervision in laboratories gives the student the opportunity to apply (or to observe the application of) specific methodologies previously introduced theoretically and aimed at scientific problem solving. 3. Critical and judgment skills (lab tests, written reports, etc.) and 4. Ability to communicate what has been learned The critical and judgment skills and the ability to communicate what has been acquired during the supervised internship is verified through the compilation and subsequent evaluation of a written report, organized according to the guidelines provided by the Head of the Course who will also evaluate it. These guidelines normally involve the compilation of a short report structured as a scientific paper, so to evaluate both the critical and judgmental ability of the intern and the skills acquired regarding the composition of a scientific text. 5. Ability to continue studying independently Attending the internship period within the course provides the Pharmaceutical Biotechnology student with both basic theoretical knowledge and the skills of applicability of experimental techniques in different fields, as well as the critical ability to evaluate their impact, describing it in a critical text in scientific format. The course therefore provides the Pharmaceutical Biotechnology student with the skills needed for the autonomous continuation of the study while approaching the start of the obligatory experimental thesis.
