Course program
Initial lessons define the operational context and the construction process, then it show the idea of the building as a place with usability and building requirements related to the physical and temporal context; in particular will be analyzed the complex relations with technology. The overall equipment, as the anatomy of the building, gives the possibility to a more specific analysis of the aesthetic, configurative, typological, structural issues. The identification of the building as a system and the analysis of its parts is just an introduction to the processes of construction, that are the results of conscious choices made for the realization of the building. In particular are analyzed those building processes and factory elements: masonry building, structural frame, floors, internal and external walls, stairs, elevators and technological equipment.
During the practice moment, the student can test the constructive feasibility of a generic living unit using different system as: masonry walls and wood, steel end reinforced concrete frames.
