Course objectives

The course aims to provide knowledge and understanding of the methodological and critical aspects, applicable to the various disciplines that characterize its interdisciplinary aspect, modulated in relation to potential job opportunities in the fashion system; it proposes perspectives on the fashion supply chain, in all its macro-sectors, in which related projects are activated; it shows the variability of fields of interest; it enables the student to master the specific topics in order to use them and apply them in all fields of fashion-system while using the correct specific language. With the acquired knowledge, the student will be able to develop autonomous ability to connect the different disciplines in the various historical epochs and cultural contexts related to fashion, as well as to create correlations between the various macro sectors of fashion.

Course program
The activities aim to strengthen students’ professional and transversal skills through formative experiences consistent with the Fashion and Costume Studies program. Activities may include: - internships in institutions or companies, including non-partner ones, with prior authorization; - participation in projects, exhibitions, events, or activities organized by the SARAS Department or the degree program; - documented work or collaborations in related fields (fashion, communication, culture, craftsmanship, museums, publishing, archives, etc.). Each activity must be certified using the official forms, indicating the total hours completed, skills acquired, and overall evaluation. One university credit (1 CFU) corresponds to 25 hours of certified activity.

Basic knowledge of fashion history, production and communication dynamics, and IT tools
Books
Materials provided by the instructor or activity supervisor, documentation of the performed activity, and selected case studies relevant to the fashion and costume industry.

Exam mode
Assessment is based on the submitted documentation, which must include: - the official form signed by the institution or activity coordinator; - a description of tasks performed and both specific and transversal skills acquired; - certification of total hours completed; - a final report or individual project, if required. Credit registration takes place electronically, on the dates established by the Internship and AAF Committee, only when all required CFU have been achieved. The final result is recorded as pass/fail (idoneità).
