Exam mode
Assessment is conducted through an oral exam; the quality and thoroughness of learning, independent judgment and reasoning, acquisition and mastery of specific demo-ethno-anthropological language, and active participation are all taken into consideration. Students attending the course will also be assessed through a commented reading in class, which serves as an exemption from part of the syllabus. To obtain a minimum grade (18/30), students must demonstrate a basic understanding of the topics presented with acceptable quality. To obtain the maximum score (30/30 with honors), in addition to excellent knowledge of the syllabus topics, students must demonstrate independent reasoning and appropriate language.
Lesson mode
The course is structured in two ways: a series of lectures with extensive use of multimedia tools; and a series of seminar exercises with critical readings on the various topics covered in the course, using books/articles and other materials from the indicated bibliography.
In light of the application of the skills indicated in the Objectives (development of critical autonomy and use of the specific language learned), particular attention will be paid to the readings assigned to students, and these presentations may constitute exams for exemption from part of the program.
Attendance is optional, but highly recommended.
