Course objectives

The course is held in the first semester of the fourth year. At the end of the teaching program the student will be able to diagnose gastrointestinal, hepatic, pancreatic and endocrine diseases and to give therapeutic indications FRONTAL LESSONS ENDOCRINOLOGY in the classroom on: Hypopituitarisms, Hypothalamus-hypophyseal neoplasms, acromegaly and gigantism, hyperprolactinemias, hypophyseal tumors, SIADH and insipid diabetes. Hypocortisolism and Adrenal insufficiency, Growth pathologies (GH deficiency). Pubertal Developmental Disorders, Hyperaldosteronism and Hypercortisolism, Surgeon Surgery, Pheochromocytoma and MEN, Hypo and Hyperparathyroidism, Functional Exploration with Thyroid Radioisotopes, Thyroiditis, Hypothyroidism and Thyrotoxicosis, Obesity, Malnutrition by Default, Corticosteroid Drugs, Nodules and Thyroid Tumors, Diabetes Mellitus, Insulin therapy, Dyslipidaemia, Hypoglycemic syndromes

Prerequisites
Students should have a good knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology, Basic Genetics and Semiotics.

Program - Frequency - Exams

Course program
The program will focus on oncological endocrinology issues. In particular: neuroendocrine neoplasms, medullary thyroid carcinoma, pheochromocytoma and paragangliomas, multiple endocrine neoplastic syndromes. Parathyroid and bone metabolism disorders will be also considered.
Prerequisites
to know the pathophysiology of the endocrine system and the function of the different hormone-receptor systems

This program will concern complex and constantly updated endocrine pathologies, so that the reference texts are not always able to give clear and updated messages. Therefore it is necessary to be assiduous in frequency, so to better face the verification exams
