SOCIOLOGY OF ADMINISTRATION

Course objectives

1. Knowledge and understanding: after having passed the exam students will have acquired in-depth knowledge and skills of critically systematize the principal theories concerning public administration reforms 2. Applying knowledge and understanding: after having passed the exam students should be able to use methodologies and techniques for the analysis of the processes of public sector reform, looking at actors, laws and restrictions, resources, relationship and interests 3. Critical faculties should be developed applying knowledge and understanding to the management of empirical researches 4. Communications skills. The ability to communicate what was learned should be developed improving writing and public speaking 5. Learning skills. The ability to continue studying the topics should be developed performing bibliographic researches and focusing on the most relevant policy makers: institutions, associations and group of interest

Frequency
Attendance is strongly recommended but not mandatory.
Exam mode
Students who have attended the lessons will be evaluated by: a written exam at the end of the first part of the course an final essay carried out in group, on the recent processes of the digitalization of the PA, described in the second part of the course. Non-attending students have to take a written exam, in the form of an essay questions.
