Mario Calabrese, PhD, is Associate Professor in the Department of Management at the Faculty of Economics of Sapienza University of Rome, where he directs the Interdepartmental ImpreSapiens Research Centre and serves as Editor‑in‑Chief of the online Rivista di Studi Manageriali (RiSMa). Within the same institution he teaches Performance Measurement in the Faculty of Economics and Innovation Design in the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy, and since the 2020/21 academic year he has held a Junior Research Fellowship at the Sapienza School for Advanced Studies (SSAS).
Previously he has served as Adjunct Professor in Management, Technological and Organizational Innovation; Innovation and Organization of Companies; and Management of Supply Markets, focusing on the design and implementation of strategic planning systems, R&D control frameworks, operational planning and control mechanisms, and financial management models. Between 2008 and 2010 he conducted research at CNR/IRAT on “Innovation and Services for the Competitiveness of SMEs in Southern Italy,” and from December 2011 to November 2014 he held a post‑doctoral fellowship at the Department of Business, Environment and Management (DIAM) of the University of Cassino. After earning his PhD in Economics and Finance in Corporate Governance from Sapienza in 2012 and a specialization diploma in Internationalization from the National School of Administration (SNA) in 2014, he joined the S.I.Ma.S. Lab at the University of Salerno as a research fellow in May 2015. From December 2017 to July 2019 he was a fixed‑term University Researcher at Sapienza, specializing in Innovation Management. Dr. Calabrese is the author of numerous essays and articles, has participated in research groups, conferences and congresses, helped found scientific societies and associations, and collaborates with public and private institutions both nationally and internationally.
