Course program
The course consists of a general introduction to Palaeograaphy (lessons 1-4) and to the palaeographical disciplines such as : Numismatics, Papyrology, Codicology, Epigraphy (lessons 5-11)
Prerequisites
A very good command of Classical Arabic, its grammar and syntax

Attending lessons is no mandatory but advised
Exam mode
The oral exam will be evaluated in 30/30 and the knowledge acquired by the student will considered positively whenever s/he will demonstrate his/her skill to read handwritten material (manuscripts, documents, coins, papyri) and to connect relevant information relating to the place and date of production of a specific manuscript witness. This factor will acknowledged in connection with the path of the student and if this is the first or second year of Paleography.
Little, superficial, and fragmented knowledge does not allow the student to reach the minimum of 18/30.
Consistent and deep knowledge will be evaluated with a range of marks between 18 and 30/30 (cum laude)
