BIOSKETCH.

Isotta Chimenti is Associate Professor in the Faculty of Pharmacy and Medicine, and Team Leader in the Experimental Cardiovascular Pathology Lab of the DSBMC department at “La Sapienza” University of Rome. Her education includes a Master of Science in Medical Biotechnology, and a PhD in Experimental Medicine. She has been a postdoc fellow at the Johns Hopkins University, at the Cedars Sinai Heart Institute, and at the Pasteur Institute – Cenci Bolognetti Foundation. Her research activity is focused on stromal cells and tissue repair, in particular on cardiac microenvironment, cardiac tissue engineering, oxidative and metabolic stress in the cardiovascular system. She has been funded as PI by several Italian National grants (PRIN, Ricerca Finalizzata, Sapienza research funding), and has participated as key staff in a European Horizon 2020 project. She co-authored over 85 Scopus indexed publications.
